Episode 96 - May the Flubber Rise to Meet You

In this week's episode I talk about the movie Flubber for reasons I'll never understand and also talk about a bunch of Irish music--appropriate since this is going up on St. Patrick's Day. Additionally at one point I do the least professional thing I could've done and leave the room with the audio just running to get a glass of whiskey. So that's here too! Check it out, I think you'll like it.

Cover photo. You'd think I would've thought to make a joke about how the color of Flubber is green in the episode, but nope.

See? It's green. The joke was right there. But I don't think I realized I was doing a St. Patrick's Day episode until I was done with that segment. Anyway, someone who works for JackSepticEye read some of my tweets so I did a segment about the movie. Etc.

I mostly focused on the album on top, but I threw in a "Best of the Chieftains" in the photo as well. "Voice of Ages" is a great Irish album, but it also photographs really beautifully, doesn't it?

Best of the Dubliners...and bonus info that I apparently bought this copy at Euclid Records for $7.99.

This Irish Rovers album has been with me for a long time, as you can tell by the condition of the case. Many of the CDs I got around this period are in rough shape. For a while there I didn't even have shelves to store them on!

Collection of Pogues stuff. Bought this one for $9.99 I guess. Two discs. Worth it.

The quintessential Flogging Molly record.

Arguably the quintessential DKM record, as well...but everybody probably has a different favorite. This one's mine.

The collection of albums by The Gloaming. Got into them pretty recently and picked up EVERYTHING. Really moody stuff, but unmistakably Irish. It's just that you'll be dancing a slow waltz instead of a jig or a reel.
