Episode #106 - "Pressure" is Another P-Word (aka - "Lotta Vodka")

This episode is a vodka-fueled mess, which should be fun for all of us. I talk about music from Drive-By Truckers, Buffalo Nichols, Tony Bennett/Lady Gaga, Colleen Green, The Velvet Underground, and Guided By Voices. I also talk about the book Girl, Interrupted. And did I mention there was vodka? Check it out!

Remember to e-mail me your questions and complaints at db@derekbrink.com!

Here's how the time shakes out:

Here's a bunch of photos!

Here's the cover! Wow!

Thought I'd share a few pictures from the DBT show. I also shared these on some of my social media. This one is my brother and I sitting in the venue. Notice that I'm holding the ticket upside down...oops.

Here's DBT on stage. Best shot I could get. Considering I was at the very back of the room, it could've been a lot worse!

Here's most of the merch from the evening. And a beer I paid way too much for, even though I like that company.

This is the DBT shirt I bought. Really pops.

I am absolutely never going to assemble this puzzle. But the fact that they had one was so ridiculous that I couldn't help but buy it.

Autographed poster. I've got more than a couple of these in the house!

Buffalo Nichols is about to be one of the biggest names in roots music. Get in NOW. New (debut) album just came out.

Tony and Gaga's voices are a match made in heaven and you need to hear this album.

Fun poppy rock music. Perfect "driving on a sunny day" vibe. Dig it!

Some really interesting names on this one. Most do the songs a lot of justice. Some very faithful recreations and some weird interpretations. Really good release.

In deed it is! GOOD GBV album, kids.

Really got into this book. Maybe you could too?
