Episode 121 - The Fab 15: Beatles Songs

In this episode, my brother Dave joins us for the debut of "The Fab 15" (or "The Fab Fifteen" I'm not sure if I like the number or the word better). Basically, we pick a subject, both make a list of our personal favorite things relate to that subjects, and then compare lists, hoping to make a master list. And for the debut edition, we started with the hardest one--our top 15 Beatles songs!

This will be a recurring feature, but it's not going to be every week, at least at first. Maybe every couple weeks or once a month, or whatever--who knows?! Regardless, it's a fun episode with a lot going on in it. We hope you enjoy it--and play along! Tell us your "Fab 15" Beatles tracks by e-mailing them to db@derekbrink.com

Here's the Fab 15 logo. The image in the "15" should change every time we do it. So that'll be fun.

...and here's what's in the "15" in the above. :) It's a big pile of Beatles stuff that I had sitting around. Because, y'know...why wouldn't I?

In case you've ever wondered what was inside the Beatles Stereo box set...this is it. All the albums and some bonus stuff (but not a ton). But the mono box set is better...

...so here's what's in the Mono box set! You're missing a few of the later albums that were stereo mixes, but the sound on the mono mixes is SO MUCH BETTER.

And here are the individual album box sets that are out there (so far). Here's hoping one day we'll get a Revolver or Rubber Soul special edition, but for now, these make me pretty happy.

And here's a handful of the other stuff we talked about that came up organically because of either Beatles references or cover songs being involved. We've got the Young Ones series (which has more than one good Beatles reference), Cheap Trick's greatest hits, Johnny Cash's American 4, The Royal Tennenbaums, MAtthew Sweet & Susannah Hoffs' "Under the Covers Vol. 1," and the soundtrack to "I Am Sam" which is a soundtrack full of Beatles covers, some of which are very interesting and cool.
