Episode 138 - Now that we're through all the death...

In this episode, I yell at you about JRR Tolkien and the Rings of Power for a long time, but also talk about music from Marc with a C and Neil Young, and share some "RIPs" to Bob McGrath, Christine McVie, and Kirstie Alley. The cover photo does not accurately represent the time spent on the topics represented, but whatever! It's a good one. Enjoy!

You can e-mail me with your responses/questions at db@derekbrink.com.

Here's the cover. Some of you would definitely notice if I didn't include it. And you're my kind of people.

Marc With A C's new album Thanatophobia. It's great. Check Marc out at http://marcwithac.com. He's a great guy who writes great songs.

This is the dedication that I mentioned in the show. Very sweet. In an industry where everybody wants you to think they're forever 17, Marc doesn't mind telling you he loves his grand-kid.

The whole shebang of the 50th Anniversary Edition of Neil Young's Harvest. It's one of my favorite albums and this treatment of it is top-notch for a price-tag that isn't crippling.

Look at the size of that booklet! Just LOADED with info a pictures!

BBC In Concert DVD. Always cool to see the old gigs. Neil's blessed us with an abundance of classic-era live stuff this year.

The "Harvest Time" DVD, showing Neil and the band in the studio working on the album, and elsewhere. A really cool chronicle of the time.

The "Harvest Outtakes" probably could've been longer and included more stuff, but for those missing the tracks on this CD they're very welcome.

The CD version of the BBC show. I appreciate that he gave us both!

And, of course, the new master of the album itself. It sounds fucking AMAZING.
