There Wasn't A Good Title in the Dialogue - 2-1-21

This is a little bit of a different episode in that the "intro" last for a half-hour! A couple Checkmates wrote in with questions, so I took time to answer them...and that left only room for one segment where I talked about four albums that came out when I was 13. It's a good episode, but it's a different pace. Do you like it? Well...if not, then ASK BETTER QUESTIONS! Otherwise...dig it! Here's the player!

Time index:

  • 0:00 - Intro
    • 6:38 - Mailbag!
    • 26:28 - Rest in Peace to Mira Furlan, Larry King, Cicely Tyson, Cloris Leachman, and Dustin Diamond. (Bummer!)
  • 34:10 - Music Break - "I Go..." from the "Two Hangmen" EP, currently unavailable online.
  • 34:40 - 4 Albums from when I was 13, including Rush - "Conterparts," Nirvana - "In Utero," Live - "Throwing Copper," and Yes - "Talk." I love this segment...and seriously...Marc...call me or whatever...
  • 1:02:03 - Music Break - "Fightin' Drunk" from the "Two Hangmen" EP, currently unavailable online.
  • 1:02:33 - Outro, including talking about Alewine Pottery and...whatever!"

And here are some photos!

The cover, because I've set the precedent and I can't stop now...

These are the albums from May 1993-May 1994 that I talked about!

The front of my original copy of Rush's "Counterparts." You can tell this one was well-used!

And here's the back...you can even see the back cover warping from water damage from...rain? maybe? This album has been through a LOT with me!

Here's a copy of Nirvana's "In Utero" that I haven't had all that long at all, comparatively. But hey...I have it...

This genuinely IS my original copy of Live's "Throwing Copper," but I'm genuinely stunned that the case looks this good. I must've replaced it at some point.

"Talk" by Yes. And this one LOOKS like I've owned it since the 90s! Plenty of battle damage on this case.

And here's the back of that case, just as beat-up as the front!

Here's a view of the underside of the stuff I recently, drunkenly ordered from Alewine Pottery. I think it's cool that they date everything. Helps a dork like me mark time.

This was how the above stuff was packed! That's a massive pile of packing material! Alewine makes SURE your order gets to you in-tact and undamaged. They care more than your average seller and that's a big part of what makes me love them.

Here's a snap of all the stuff I bought in this particular order. Pretty!

A mug that's a little smaller than a standard mug... It holds about 8-10oz of whatever you pour into it and it looks beautiful while doing it. Cute!

...and here's another one. Small but cute!

These are "soup cups." They're basically bowls with handles. They hold about 2 cups worth of soup, which I find is just about plenty for a serving. Still super-cute!

...and that's it! Thanks for your support, Checkmates!
