I've Had a Bad Week - 2/8/21

I didn't have a very good week this week. I was pretty bummed, in fact. So this episode is a little different. I don't do the usual music or presentation...I just talk for about 40 minutes about being bummed out and the art that's been making me less bummed out. It's a different one, but a good one. Check it out. Here's the player:

And here are some photos:

Here's the cover for your collection. Freak.

This is one of the shirts I referenced buying. It's Alan A. Dale from the Disney adaptation of Robin Hood. I like it a lot.

This is also the cover photo...but if you just need a static image of me wearing a shirt that says "Kiss Me... I'm Monday" here you go.

FRASIER!!!

Here's Knives Out again. I've talked about it on the show before. And I did again. Because Christopher Plummer died. So...there ya' go...

Here are the Sloan CDs I referenced. I like the one on the left (Navy Blues) more than the one on the right (The Double Cross), but they're both good! (Also playing card in the foreground. Which was a mistake. But fuck it.)

The Matthew Sweet CDs I referenced. And here's a sidebar... I bought these used off of eBay. Which flies in the face of my usual "support the artist" stance. But in this case, neither album is available from a distribution company in an unused format that would in any way benefit Matthew Sweet. In fact, unused copies presently are highly sought after and go for CRAZY prices that Sweet will never see a DOLLAR from. So I feel okay compromising on these. If he releases any "anniversary editions" or something that would actually benefit him, I may re-buy them. But for now...these copies were used off eBay and I feel fine about it. I also have ordered his new album (Catspaw) from a legitimate source that WILL give him a cut.

Here's the Tony Bennett stuff I referenced. The Lady Gaga album is presently hard to find, but totally worth your time. It might be my favorite thing he's done. It's almost DEFINITELY my favorite thing that SHE'S done. Although I do like a lot of her stuff on its own merit.
