Episode 119 - I Have the Metrics to Show that You Don't Want to Hear Me Talk About Wrestling

***This week's episode was recorded prior to the death of Gilbert Gottfried. I will talk about him in a future upload.***

In this episode I mainly talk about a weird assortment of movies from my Criterion Collection BluRays, including Andrei Rublev, Being There, The Seventh Seal, Brazil, Blue is the Warmest Color, and It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. I also touch on the passing of wrestling great Scott Hall, in response to some listener mail and talk about my cats and stuff. It's a little all over the place. Enjoy!

Remember that you are always free to email me at db@derekbrink.com.  A lot of times I reply, or even read it on air!

I kinda didn't realize until I took the photo that this is a REALLY weird group of movies!

A very long movie that I definitely watched.

A Peter Sellers classic. In my late 20s the image of Chance walking on air was my desktop background for like a couple years.

I've been meaning to watch this since Max Von Sydow passed away. I pronounced his name a variety of different ways throughout the show. If someone wants to count how many times I switch it up, that would be a statistic I would be interested in reading.

This DVD set has been in my house since 2013 and I'd never watched it. Finally did. Enjoyed it. A few years back someone saw it sitting on my shelf and asked me about it. They thought it was porn because of the box cover--both in color and shape. Can't unsee it.

Whereas this movie basically IS porn in a couple places! But I really enjoyed the story, despite it being clearly a man writing about lesbians. I'm selling it all wrong in what I'm writing here. It really was good.

A classic comedy that was a lot of fun for a little too long. :)
